This one is rather special to me as it is my sister’s wedding. Ruth and Tom had been engaged for many years, and have two children together (my gorgeous nephews Bertie and Otto) Well, as you can imagine when Ruth announced that they had finally set a date, and were having a small intimate family wedding with just 16 guests, I was delighted to photograph it. My sister’s wedding is the smallest wedding I have photographed and let me tell you, I would like to do more! It was so special. Ruth got ready at home, where we all grew up together and frequently go back for mum’s Sunday roasts, so it was so lovely to photograph this relaxed part of the day. Ruth looked stunning in her dress, a very non-weddingy bargain eBay purchase, and her little posey bouquet. I had a tear in my eye later as I watched my dad walk Ruth down the aisle. Due to it being such a small wedding, we were in the Vestry, so it was a long walk for them, and they really took their time. I could tell Ruth was really enjoying that walk and it was such a precious moment to photograph. The service was perfect, and even had a lovely little part aimed at the children, where they could participate. After church, we walked down the road to the nearby pub/restaurant for a buffet lunch, and much frolicking in the sunshine with the kids. Again, it was all just very relaxed and happy and I got lots of silly shots of my family (and even handed my camera to my brother-in-law to get a family snap of me, Dave and Ivor) At about 4pm, we waved Ruth and Tom off on their honeymoon, and made our way home. Here are the pictures.
A beautifully told story & fantastic work as always Kathryn! x
