Relaxed Tipi Wedding:
Katherine and Jack’s gorgeous Tipi wedding in Rotherby was just a joy to photograph! Katherine and Jack wanted a wedding that was relaxed and personal and a bit different. Well, it sure as hell delivered! Katherine works as a wedding planner for a hotel, and so the last thing she wanted was a wedding in a hotel. Instead, they decided to have a Tipi wedding on the land adjacent to the home where Katherine grew up, and where her parents still live now.
Katherine got ready at her parents home in the morning. I had a sneaky peek at the gorgeous Tipi in the lovely morning light. It looked fab. The ceremony took place at the Quorn Country Hotel, and everyone made their way back to the field for the rest of the wedding reception, which was incredibly relaxed and informal. Exactly how I like it!
There were lots of lovely DIY elements. The Tipi was decorated beautifully. I particularly liked the old swing, where I got some portraits of Katherine. I imagined her using the same swing as a child, which made the photos seem that much more poignant.
We ventured into the corn field oppostite the house for some couple portraits. The light was gorgeous and again it was a lovely spot, as Katherine told me her bedroom window growing up looked out onto this field! How much more blooming romantic can you get?! Such a fun day. I stayed to capture all the antics on the dance floor, and even had a bounce on the bouncy castle. Don’t judge me 😉 Thanks to my second shooter Mark for all his help on the day.
