Engagement Shoot at Elvaston Castle:
I really enjoyed this little pre-wedding engagement shoot at Elvaston Castle. These two teachers are getting married in August and I’m looking forward to shooting their wedding. They are a top couple. I really enjoyed spending some time with them. Strolling about Elvaston Castle with all the little nooks and crannies for photos it has to offer. A little nervous and giggley at first, Louise and Tom soon warmed into the shoot. I really love some of the quieter intimate moments I captured between them.
Engagement shoots are funny. It is not the most natural thing in the world, to walk around with your photographer photographing you kissing and cuddling. It can definitely feel a bit odd to start with. But essentially, it is just a great way for me to get to know a couple before their wedding day. Furthermore, spending some time in front of my camera, and then seeing how natural and lovely the pictures look afterwards is a great pre-cursor for the wedding day itself.
Close your eyes and relax:
About 10 minutes into the shoot, I got Louise and Tom to close their eyes and listen to the sounds around them. To just relax in each others arms and to enjoy the stillness and quiet. From this moment on, I found I got some great intimate shots of the two of them together. We walked around finding some wonderful spots for photos. After the shoot, Tom bought Louise and I some delicious ice cream (what a gent) Yum. We drove back to their house, trying not to get ice-cream over tom’s exceptionally clean car. I actually got the name of Tom’s car valet, who has since cleaned my car to the shiniest it has ever been – inside and out – Locke’s Pro mobile valet. Very impressive service! #toptipoftheday
Anyway, on returning to the house, we had a cup of tea and a chat and I got a few more pictures of their dog Kevin. Yep, I like engagement shoots like these, which is why I continue to offer them as part of the service. Also not bad when you get an ice-cream and a car cleaning recommendation out of it! 😉
