Essex Garden Wedding
Sarah and Gary got married at Langtons House in Hornchurch, Essex and then went back to her parents’ garden for a relaxed garden marquee wedding. It was such a great day! A really hot one too! Sarah got ready in her parents house, where a marquee had been put up in the garden. The house (and garden) was a buzz of activity when I arrived and things were in full swing as everyone prepared for the big day. It was so lovely being back here and the wedding held poignant memories for me as a photographer.
My Photography Journey
11 years ago to the day my friend Caroline got married in exactly the same garden. I was a guest at the wedding. Sarah is Caroline’s younger sister and I had been recommended to photograph the wedding. I didn’t realise until chatting to Caroline that day, that it was her and James’ anniversary. Which means exactly 11 years ago I was in attendance at their wedding, and picked up a camera to ‘have a go’. 11 years ago I borrowed a camera to take pictures at Caroline’s wedding. I got the bug and here I am over a decade later taking pictures as a wedding photographer in the exact same spot!
Sarah & Gary
Anyway enough about me. That really took me back. But this day was about Sarah and Gary and oh my what a day it was! From a very hot ceremony in what felt like a green house at Langton’s. To a lovely cool garden, thankfully full of shade, lots of chatting and milling around before some VERY emotional speeches, including a best mens’ speech to end all best man speeches. It culminated in the reading of an illustrated bed time story of the night Gary proposed to Sarah. All in rhyming couplets. Incredible!
Here are a few from the day. I literally cannot wait to share more…
