Wedding Photography at Fulham Library
Emily is an old school friend of mine from Primary School. We took ballet lessons together when we were very young and used to play round each others houses. So I was delighted and honoured to be asked to do her wedding photography at Fulham Library. She was marrying a man called Dean, who is an absolute gent! they have a little boy called Ralph, who has to be the absolutely most chilled baby I have ever come across! And adorably cute! The library was such a great spot for photos and thanks to some fabulous video light supplied by my awesome second shooter Gavin, we managed to create some magic in the library despite the pouring rain!
Wedding Prep
I met Emily at her friend’s flat to photograph the getting ready. Her bridesmaids were all on hand to help with this part of the day (and what a lovely bunch of girls they were) and also help with the baby that barely needs anything because he is SO CHILLED!! and generally be the best buddies a girl could have. Dean was getting ready at their own flat in the same block just a stone’s throw away. We got taxis to the library and after some confetti and a few pictures, everyone hopped on the brilliant routemaster London bus to the George IV pub in Chiswick that was so beautifullly decked out in fairy lights and candles it looked wonderful.
Rain what rain?!
Over the past season of weddings, I have very much learnt to embrace the weather and shoot what I can where I can and I have thoroughly enjoyed the creative challenges that make you think outside the box as a photographer. That little window of light in the stairwell behind the room where Emily and Dean officially tied the knot was the perfect spot for portraits and had it not been raining who knows, perhaps I wouldn’t have had to get so creative. But I love that shot of Emily at the top of the stairs!
