A gorgeous garden wedding in Whatton
I have really enjoyed re-visiting this lovely Nottinghamshire garden wedding in Whatton for Annabel and Rob. Last year on 1st June, I made my way to the gorgeous little village of Whatton where the sun was shining brightly for Annabel and Rob’s amazing wedding at their local church and then back to the parents’ garden for the perfect laid back wedding reception. It was really wonderful. I do love a back garden wedding. Annabel got ready in the house where she grew up, and I arrived whilst hair and makeup was in full swing. Vibes were low key and relaxed. With the general exciting buzz of young excited bridesmaids getting into dresses.
Walk to the church
It was lovely to be able to walk to the church and back, particularly on such a hot and sunny day. I loved some of these photos. Particularly the ones of Bel and Rob walking home after the ceremony, with their guests walking behind them. It was such a pretty sight! I also have to mention the moment when Bel’s dad shot the door of the car on her veil! I think I caught the moment where he just slammed the door shut and poor Annabel was left attached to the car with the local villagers looking on in horror! Luckily, Annabel was such a relaxed bride, she did not let this get in the way of her terrific church ceremony. You could barely see the oil stains. haha.
G&Ts in the garden
Oh my gosh, I have never wanted a gin at a wedding so badly! They looked so good, especially on such a hot sunny day! I enjoyed mingling around with all the guests in the garden and taking a few pictures of the kids larking about. I even got them to climb into a tree for a photo. They did look very cool! It was also great to meet Bel and Rob’s gorgeous pooch, and get some great wedding dog photos! I stole the couple away for some portraits round the back of the garden by the stables and I loved the backdrop for these rustic couple shots.
A year on!
I know Annabel and Rob have had a challenging year and so it has been nice for them to look back over these photos after a rollercoaster year! I hope they can get all the joy in the world from them now and really cherish what a wonderful day they had together. Such a wonderful gentle and loving couple, who are adventurous and fit and fun and a brilliant strong pair! Sending you all the love in the world for many more happy years together. Much love, Kx
