10 from Hannah & Joe | Ice creams on the beach

Wedding Photography in Norfolk

If anyone feels crushed with disappointment about their wedding plans being squashed, guest numbers reduced and big parties postponed, I would simply say do a Hannah and Joe! MARRY NOW PARTY LATER is my new motto. And I have had a rather good month of weddings with couples who have decided to do just that! Hannah and Joe had already postponed their wedding from July to October. When new restrictions came into place, they had to postpone again to March 2021. However, they decided to get married anyway, have an intimate celebration with their nearest and dearest and do the big celebration at their booked venue next year.

When they told me the plan was to have a short ceremony in Norwich followed by ice creams on the beach in Norfolk, I was delighted! I could not wait to photograph these two paddling in the sea. And as it happened the weather was warm enough that they could have swam in the sea if they so wished (in fact one of the guests did!) they couldn’t have asked for a better day!

Ice creams on the beach

So, as planned, after a very small ceremony at Norwich Castle we headed down to the beach at Sheringham. A quiet little seaside town with some quaint ice cream shops and fish and chip shops. A very quiet beach, and a busker on the corner. It could not have been more perfect. Mine was a mint chocolate chip (my fave!) and with camera in one hand and ice cream in the other I went to dip my toes in the sea and take some photos of Hannah and Joe – just married. It was super romantic, fun, sunny and playful.

Barbecue at the folk’s converted barn

I had heard a lot about this old converted barn that Hannah’s mum and dad had done up. So I was looking forward to seeing it! It was beautiful. The perfect place for friends and family to put up their sandy feet beside the fire pit whilst brother and brother in law prepared the barbecue. It is always very special to feel accepted into a family, and this was not the first time I have met the family having previously photographed Hannah’s sister Jenny’s wedding to Eddie, and also Hannah’s mum’s graduation photos. So I feel rather embedded as their family photographer now. Indeed it was rather fun recreating some shots of the siblings together to match up with photos at Jennie and Eddie’s wedding.

An absolutely lovely relaxed small wedding celebration that embraced completely what I will be saying to all my couples going forward. MARRY NOW PARTY LATER! You won’t regret it!
