Nottinghamshire Garden Wedding

12 from Lindsey & Chris’ beautiful English Country Garden wedding

Lindsey and Chris’ Nottinghamshire garden wedding was a delight to photograph. Lindsey and Chris are a lovely friendly couple and it was such a pleasure being a part of their special day. It was packed with gorgeous moments, one of my favourites (which was actually a wedding gift surprise for Chris from Lindsey) was being taken for a drive around the Nottinghamshire countryside in the very same Aston Martin that James Bond drove in Goldfinger. OK, not the actual one. But it sure looked the same! In fact, we managed to get an iconic James Bond style photo of Chris, circa Sean Connery 1964. See if you can spot the shot below!

Bridal Preparations

I met Lindsey in the morning at the house she shares with Chris in Newark, whilst Chris was getting ready at his mum’s house, where the wedding was to take place. Kelly from KOllective was already there finishing off Lindsey’s makeup. She went for a lovely natural look that suited the country garden vibes for the day. Lindsey had called on the creative talents of some of her friends and family, with her sister Becky doing the amazing flowers. So pretty and again really suited the Country garden theme. And her godmother had made her a beautiful hair vine, which was so intricate and lovingly hand made. I will link to all the talented suppliers below.

A Nottinghamshire Garden Wedding

After the beautiful church ceremony, Lindsey and Chris walked out of the church in military fashion. With some of their friends participating in the traditional saber arch exit with swords raised at the doorway to the church. Followed by loads of confetti chucked on them by 30 willing guests. The couple then led their family and friends up the road to Chris’ family home, where drinks and canapés awaited them.

Absent Friends

It would be amiss to write a blog for Lindsey and Chris without mentioning Chris’ dad John, who sadly passed away only weeks before the wedding took place. The day was tinged with a bitter sweetness as he was obviously sadly missed. But having the wedding in his garden was the right decision as it felt like it was also a final farewell to John. I am sure the memories will live on in that beautiful garden even though a new chapter is opening for Chris’ lovely mum. I really enjoyed getting to know the family and friends. It was clear that John was loved by many.

A talented team

Church: St Andrews Church in Eakring with Rev. Margaret Groves; Reception: Chris’ mum Carolyn’s gorgeous garden (it really was beautiful!); Dress: Oscar Lili with alterations and additions made by the talented Petit Versailles; Hair and Makeup by the wonderful Kelly Odell; Hair Vine by Bish Bosh Becca; another Becky responsible for the beautiful bouquet – Flowers by Becky; Gannets did the cake and the afternoon catering; with evening food from Gourmazin; not forgetting the amazing Pete with his James Bond car! What a treat!

12 Photos

I am including just 12 photos from the day. Always so difficult to choose my favourites, and there will be more on the slideshow in a couple of weeks. But these 12 are some of my favourites. What a lovely special day and such fabulous weather for an intimate Nottinghamshire garden wedding. Great memories. Here are some of mine in pictures…
