Shottle Hall Wedding Photography | Karen & Matt

I thoroughly enjoyed the wedding photography at Shottle Hall for Karen and Matt’s lovely day. I was convinced that my luck may have ended as it was forecast rain. But yet again the weather held out. Beautiful skies over the rolling Derbyshire landscape made the perfect setting for this Great Gatsby inspired wedding at Shottle Hall in the heart of the Peak District. Karen was the picture of vintage elegance in her 20s inspired gown by Susie Stone. She suited the style so well and was a joy to photograph. Matt’s suit was also 20s in style with a 20s collar and pin that I just loved. The bridesmaids and groomsmen were fab and up for some fun shots in the evening that really made my day. The outdoor ceremony and marquee venue was the perfect setting for this stunning outdoor vintage inspired wedding day.

Groomsmen do Reservoir Dogs

Check out my favourite groomsmen do Reservoir Dogs shot. I love it! They all look so cool! Every time I do this shot at a wedding I wonder if I am a bit old. Reservoir Dogs was the coolest film when I was in my teens. But I am increasingly becoming aware that I am now a bit older than my couples. Luckily some people still get the retro cool vibe of the Reservoir Dogs shot. You either know what I mean or not. Its the opening credits – watch and learn! 😉

Stags Head at Shottle Hall

I loved photographing the early preparations at Shottle hall, with the old world charm of a Derbyshire Country House. And then the rustic vintage setting of the outdoor ceremony, which had more of a rural farm land charm. the contrast was fab. I particularly loved the stag’s head in the hall. Really Makes you feel like you are living inside an old dusty Victorian novel. As such, it is difficult to know whether to categorise the venue as a Country House venue or a Farm venue. So I’ll pop it in both.

Cheese Cake

The couple opted for a cheese cake from the Hartington Cheese shop, and the day was finished with the couple waltzing their first dance. Beautiful. Thanks to Beth Swift for helping me capture the day. I would love to return to Shottle Hall for more wedding photography in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside. Oh yes. take me back!
