On Sunday I met Clare and Mike in Leicester and we drove to a special place belonging to Mike's family. It was a magical peaceful spot of woodland surrounding a lake, near a village called Ashby Magna. The whole area was luscious and green from all the rain, and we had a lovely sunny afternoon taking pictures. Clare and Mike are clearly very much in love, and it was brilliant being able to capture this on my camera. They are a very sweet couple and I'm really looking forward to photographing their wedding in August.
After an awful lot of rain through April, we weren't sure what to expect before Jo and Paul's engagement shoot on Saturday, and I optimistically reassured Jo on the phone that it would be fine, and on the day it was more than fine, it was a glorious day for a walk in a London park, and Regents Park is a pretty good park for a pre wedding shoot. The daisies were out in full bloom and I had such good fun with Jo and Paul who were game for all sorts of poses I threw at them! My favourite shots are of Jo with a daisy chain round her head, so cute! I can't wait for the wedding in September. They are a lovely...
This morning, we were lucky enough to have a rare break in this dismal rain, and the sun came out for Rebekah and David's relaxed engagement shoot in Melton Mowbray. It was such a lovely day, and really nice to spend some time stomping around the countryside near where the couple live. They brought their dog Alfie along for the walk too, and I have never seen such a bouncy dog. He was so excited, and I think he knew it was his time to shine, as he was an absolute pro in front of my camera! The woodland near their home is beautiful, and the views just gorgeous. It was so nice to get out into the countryside...
Amy and Craig are such a lovely couple and we had such a great time on their engagement shoot at their wedding venue Hodsock Priory. I had not been to the venue before and it really is a lovely place to take photographs. In fact we got very carried away and spent about 3 hours wandering around all the grounds taking pictures. The weather was lovely too and I am delighted with the pictures. I'm really looking forward to the wedding, which I am photographing in exactly a year today, so it seems fitting to reveal these photographs where the countdown can begin.
I had a lot of fun with Rachel and Andrew as we mooched around Gonalston farm taking pictures. They were brilliant to work with and came with a whole bag of props, which only meant I took far more pictures than I normally would! After the farm we popped into a very retro barbers shop in Burton Joyce. The outside had a fabulous mural on the wall, and inside was beautifully retro. The barbers were very friendly and cool about me taking engagement photos in their shop! Rachel and Andrew are getting married in 2013, and are using some of their engagement pictures for Save the Date cards. Editing has also...
My engagement shoot with Gretl and Ian at Belton House. It was a chilly day, but Gretl and Ian braved the weather for their engagement shoot at Belton House in Leicestershire. The house itself was featured in the BBC Pride and Prejudice starring Colin Firth. It was Rosings, the home of Catherine De Burgh. This may not mean anything to many people. But as an avid fan of both the book and the BBC adaptation, it was great to visit the location. Although it was cold, it was a lovely bright day, and I just loved Gretl's red coat and red shoes (yes anything red!) I'm looking forward to their wedding...
Gaelle and Colin are getting married in August in Gaelle's native France, and they wanted to have an English photo shoot complete with traditional cups of English tea. Although Gaelle is a typically chic French woman, and loves everything French, she admitted to having a fondness for the English tradition of tea drinking. So I brought along my favourite tea cups for the shoot, and Gaelle brought some lovely flowers and balloons. It was a blustery Monday evening in Wollaton park, and I was having so much fun, we very nearly got locked in, as dusk approached and I was still sqeezing the last bit of light...
Another beautifully styled shoot from my time at Photography Farm. Rob and Heather are getting married next year, and very bravely agreed to have their engagement shoot at the Photography Farm with Lisa Devlin and several other Photography Farmers snapping away. They love camping and so the shoot was styled around a lovely vintage caravan provided by Hazy Days Caravan Hire, and put together with some fantastic details styled by The Tea Set. I have been experimenting with Lisa's Vintage Actions for this shoot, to give the picturess a nice quirky feel that seems to suit Heather and Rob's own very...
An engagement shoot in the rain! Had a great time taking pictures of Rachel and George, whilst dashing in and out of the rain and sometimes just standing right under it. Luckily they came prepared and it was actually lots of fun. We found some lovely places to take pictures and they were such great sports, braving the weather for this shoot. Can't wait for the wedding in May. Sounds like it is going to be beautiful. Take a look at some of my pictures below...
