It was so nice to photograph a wedding at a venue that is literally a 10 minute drive from my doorstep! Woodborough Hall is a lovely venue filled with tranquility and charm. It has been beautifully restored to its former glory, with the building and estate dating back to 1660. Steeped in history, the surrounding peaceful countryside makes an idyllic setting for a wedding, and Gretl and Ian's suited their venue perfectly. Astonishingly, the couple planned it all in only 12 weeks. They did a fantastic job resulting in a lovely day full of beautiful moments throughout. The couple have three children...
I spent Saturday taking pictures at Gretl and Ian's lovely wedding at Woodborough Hall. It was a lovely day, and I coudln't wait to start editing my pictures, so I thought I would show a sneak peek before I post the whole wedding (well not the whole thing. I took LOADS of pictures!!) More from this lovely wedding to follow soon. For now, here is a little taster of the day...
The wedding of Laurie and Alexis. This post is a bit different as I was attending the wedding as a guest and not the official photographer. However, although I was not there in an official capacity, I was still able to do what I absolutely love to do best, and that is capture beautiful moments on my camera. So, I wasn't responsible for group shots of bride and groom shots. However, as it was my cousin getting married, this post represents my take on what was a lovely wedding day. A wedding at a castle in the snow. It doesn't get more fairy-tale than that! Check out my photos below.
In December I accompanied Stephen Gormley as Second Shooter to help record the wedding of Jo and Richard in Leicestershire. Jo grew up on a farm in Hambleton, and wanted to have her wedding at home, with the ceremony at the local church by the vicar who has known her since she was a child, and the reception in a marquee on her parents' farm. The table names were even named after the different fields she used to play in, so the whole theme of the wedding was very personal and nostalgic for the bride. As second shooter, I met the groom and his best man at the local pub, where they greeted some of the early...
Last Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Claire and Paul's autumnal nuptials as they tied the knot at St Anne's Church in Bristol. They have a large family of grown up children (six altogether between them both) and the sign on the door prepared me for a warm and lively reception "Welcome to the Nut House" it said. I spent some time with Claire and her daughters as they got ready for the big day. The atmosphere was relaxed and I felt very much at home snapping away as the family prepared. Claire was as cool as a cucumber, even waiting until all her bridesmaids had their makeup done before...
Ellen and Pete married in the beautifully elegant Finsbury Town Hall, and also held the reception in it's stunning Great Hall. The day was a very happy one, packed with fun and laughter from start to finish. Ellen looked gorgeous in her Grecian-style floor length gown, and the groom didn't stop grinning all day. Though most of my pictures were taken inside the building, I did manage to get one or two shots outside with the number 341 bus in the background. A proper London wedding isn't complete without a proper double decker bus!

Ian and Chantal got married at Wandsworth Town Hall and had their reception at the beautiful Templeton Estates. A lovely down to earth couple, they had friends and family over from France seemlessly mixing with their English speaking guests. The English groom Ian very impressively did his speech in French, which went down a treat. Chantal is half French, and true to her roots, the wedding was chic and stylish and she looked stunning in her Suzanne Neville dress, which was elegant and lovely on her. The beautiful wedding cake was made by the groom himself, and catering and flowers provided by Templeton....
On Sunday I accompanied James Pepper to help shoot the beautiful wedding of Alex and Kara in Shirrell Heath, Hampshire. The location was magnificent and the weather was too. Incredible sunshine came out for this lovely couple, who were very sweet, and extremely suave and stylish. They have the cutest daughter, who looked very pretty in her gorgeous little dress. Kara's two bridesmaids were chic and elegant in dark blue, and the colours matched throughout, including matching navy heels for all three of the ladies. I picked up loads of good tips from James, and felt very lucky to be part of Alex...
