Frequently Asked Questions:

If your question isn’t covered, please contact me to ask.

Q: How much do you charge and what does that include?

A: My price package is straight forward. At the moment weddings start at £1400 for full day coverage and a USB of high res edited images. Additional extras such as an album or a second shooter can be added. Please CONTACT ME for an accurate quote. Or visit my PRICING PAGE, which will give you more information.

Q: Where are you based?

A: I am based in Nottingham but often travel to London and further afield for weddings and engagement shoots.

Q: What camera do you use?

A: I use a Canon 5D Mark iii, with a mark ii as a back up

Q: How would you describe your style?

A: I have a natural and relaxed style to my photography, enjoying nothing better than to capture someone laughing, smiling and just having fun. I DON’T do a lot of posing, preferring to capture you as you are. Along with this, I would also say I have a quirky edge to my photography and enjoy vintage styles. If you want something a little bit different, and not so traditional, I could be your photographer.

Q: How many photos do we get??

A: I aim to deliver around 400 pictures to tell the story of your day. Sometimes it may be closer to 500, particularly if I am working with a second shooter. I take thousands of pictures on your wedding day, but rather than overwhelm you with every single shot, I spend a long time editing my shots down to the absolute best.

Q: Do you use a second shooter or is it just you?

A: I often work with a second professional photographer with a similar style to help me capture the day. It is entirely up to you as to whether you opt for this as an extra. I can chat through the benefits to help inform your decision on this. Or just take a look at this blog post that outlines some of the benefits. A second shooter is currently an additional £200.

Q: Why do you include a complimentary engagement shoot?

A: I always offer an engagement shoot, usually lasting a couple of hours at a location of your choice. It gives you as a couple the opportunity to feel comfortable with me as a photographer, get to know me and my way of working and therefore feel more at ease on you big day. It also gives you some wonderful shots of just the two of you that can be used for save the date cards, thank you cards or in a guest book, or just for your own memories. I also really enjoy it! Take a look at some of my engagement shoots here.

Q: We are not really used to having our picture taken, and we don’t want to look awkward, do you pose us?

A:  My style is super relaxed and natural, which means I don’t do a great deal of posing, preferring to just capture you as you are. My aim is to get you to feel as comfortable as possible in front of my camera, so I can capture this, and this is one of the reasons I do a pre wedding shoot. I might give a little bit of simple direction, like “look at each other” or “have a little cuddle” but generally we have a chat and the photos just come naturally. No need to worry, please see some of my testimonials from other couples who say how relaxed they felt, despite feeling apprehensive to begin with.

Q: Do we need to provide you with a meal on the day?

A:  Yes please. If this is a problem, just let me know so that I can make arrangements to sort something out. But it is a long day. I usually start in the morning and won’t eat until you sit down for your wedding breakfast, so will need some fuel to keep me going into the evening. Chat to your caterers about this as they will normally be able to cater for the photographers. Often I will just have the same food as you are having or bar food if it is available. Additionally, I normally sit separately to your wedding guests so that I can have some down time, look over my photos and prepare for the evening.

Q: What happens if you are suddenly violently ill on the morning of our wedding?

A:  I haven’t missed a single wedding yet in the 6 years I have had my business, but I often get asked this question, and very understandably as I can understand it could be a worry. Although I’ve not missed a wedding, I have stood in for a photographer who couldn’t get to bridal prep in time because I lived near the venue. I am fortunately quite a healthy person, and don’t get ill very often. I would have to be very ill to miss your wedding. I have shot a wedding with absolutely no voice and had to communicate through whispering to my second shooter and through interpretive dance! 😉 However, if the worse came to the worse, I have an amazing network of absolutely amazing photographers who would spread the word and find a replacement for you. They would be good and perfectly capable, and preferably have a similar style to me, and I would sort out all the finances on your behalf and hand your wedding over to them.

Q: What if we cancel? Do we lose our deposit?

A:  Yes I’m afraid so. It goes both ways. Once you book and pay your deposit you are securing that date. I get a lot of enquiries, that I would have turned down once you have secured the date with a deposit. If I am able to re-schedule to a date that I am available, this might be different. If you have paid in full and cancel less than 12 weeks before your wedding, I’m afraid full payment cannot be refunded. This is all outlined clearly in the contract.
