Heather and Tom

A lovely Spring wedding

Heather and Tom had a lovely Spring wedding held at the splendid Norwood Park. They both got ready at Norwood Park in the morning and then tied the knot at St Andrews Church in Caunton. It was such a great day from start to finish. The sun was out, and Heather was a beautiful beaming bride, who did not stop smiling all day. There were lots of personal touches in this gorgeous Spring wedding, including a stunning bouquet made by Bennington Blooms featuring the national flower of Zimbabwe, the flame lily. Heather originates from Zimbabwe so it was really meaningful to her to have this flower in her bouquet, and not easy to come across in this country so well done to that florist!

Heather and Tom’s favourite five:

I asked Heather and Tom to pick their favourite five images and they selected some beauties. Here they are…

ONE:

Heather says:

This was the first time my dad saw me in the room where I was getting ready. The picture just conveyed the emotions in the room perfectly. I hardly stopped crying that day until after the ceremony (happy tears) and despite that the photos all looked so good.

TWO:

Heather says:

This was the picture just before the first kiss – our vicar recounted the time Tom said to him “and when do you say I can kiss the bride”. Our second photographer had managed to get access to the upper floor of the church and the angle for the picture was just perfect. A great memory.

THREE:

Heather says:

I loved how we were pulling faces during the confetti throwing at the church and the photo captured them perfectly. We aren’t generally photogenic as a couple but this was such a cute photo of us.

FOUR:

Heather says:

I loved being able to see the entire back of my dress and Kathryn worked so well to get loads of pics of it knowing how much I loved it. Also this picture is so serene and we were very much in the moment of being “Mr and Mrs”.

FIVE:

Heather says:

This was just before the evening reception when all my work colleagues arrived and I was busy showing them the back of dress yelling “look at my bum!”. I had no clue that picture was being taken and the girls’ reactions were priceless. Without that picture i’d probably forget that moment had happened.

What was the best decision you made about your wedding day? (advice to future couples)

Neither of us compromised – we just looked for suppliers or venues etc that we both loved. We are very different people but were still able to find something that we both loved. Keep looking until you find it – that way neither of us was disappointed in anything.

Is there anything you would do differently? (advice to future couples)

Not stress on the little things. You will notice them but no one else will so don’t worry about getting perfection in tiny details. Try to enjoy the run up to the day without focusing on details that don’t matter.

Can you remember how you found out about Kathryn Edwards Photography?

I did an internet search of photographers in the area – I had a look at the Facebook page and website and just loved the natural photos and that they weren’t gimmicky.

Some of my favourites

Here are 36 of my selection. Mostly natural moments or lovely portraits. Heather and Tom were a joy to work with. Heather is such a bubbly and friendly person and the above photo where her evening guests were admiring her bum in her dress is part of a series of pictures that just sums her up! I really enjoyed and feel privileged to be a part of their special day.
