Nottingham Engagement Shoots:
The engagement shoot is something I offer to all my couples and is a fantastic opportunity to get to know you before your wedding. We take a walk for about an hour, we chat weddings (and other stuff) and we stop now and then for a few photo snaps. I absolutely love doing them. I think part of it is because I love getting to know new people. And I love seeing what makes people tick and how people are with each other.
My Nottingham engagement shoots are natural and relaxed. I like to capture you as you are together. No airs or graces, just you! It can seem a bit daunting to start with. Hey, nobody likes having their picture taken right? Well, I do. But I think I am rather an oddity as a photographer as I quite like being both sides of the camera 😉 But these days, it is most definitely behind it! My job is to put you at ease. And the couples I work with all comment on this when they give me feedback after the wedding. This makes me so happy as I think for my style of photography, you feeling at ease is one of the most important things for me. Normally by the end of the engagement shoot, even the most shy couples feel a lot more relaxed than they thought they would. But where should we go for a Nottingham Engagement Shoot?
Location Location Location:
As I’ve been chatting to couples about engagement shoots and where to chose for the location, it occurred to me, that I haven’t actually featured many engagement shoot blogs in recent years, despite doing loads of them! So, I have gathered a few shoots together that I have done over the past couple of years at Wollaton Hall and Deer Park. It is a great location for the engagement shoot for several reasons.
There are several good spots for pictures. A walk around the lake, stopping for a few photos takes about an hour. PLUS there is rather a nice pub over the road, so if you wanted to go for a spot of lunch or dinner, it is something you can do after. Also, it occurred to me whilst looking through these pictures that I always find a new spot for a shot. It doesn’t matter how many shoots I do on the same location or at the same venue, the light is always a bit different. So the photos and spots for photos always vary. I LOVE that about my job. It is full of surprises. One of the reasons I don’t often do venue checks before the wedding too. Light changes, a good spot for a photo may be completely different on one day to the next. Its all about chasing that light, and finding where it falls beautifully. Here are a few of my shoots at Wollaton Hall and Deer Park with a few of my wonderful couples…
Lovely set of photographs. Beautiful as always 🙂
