Anyone who knows me well will know I LOVE flowers. I used to have the nickname kathryn-daisy as I was mildly obsessed with daisies. In fact the first name for my photography business was Kathryndaisy Photography before I decided actually I would just use my real name! One of my favourite moments of a wedding day is seeing the bouquet for the first time. I’ve got to know a few florists quite well and often recommend my favourites to couples I am working with. So I thought it would be lovely to write a feature on my blog of my favourite florists. I am lucky that I get to work with some of the best florists…
FLORALDECO:
It is impossible for me to feature every single florist I have worked with. There are so many amazing ones out there! But I have my favourites. Some have become friends and its so lovely to bump into them on the morning of the wedding. Rebecca at Floraldeco is such a lovely lady and her creations are amazing. Amy’s bouquet (above) is one of my firm favourites and you can see it featured quite a lot on my website. It is the background image to many of the pages on my site as well as featuring in my portfolio. I have worked with Rebecca a few times, and she even agreed to do the flowers for my styled shoot a few years ago. Rebecca was also responsible for all of Ruth’s flower delivery in Pasadena at her New Year’s Eve wedding, and I can’t tell you how stunning they were! (see below)
MRS UMBELS:
Sarah of Mrs Umbels is an absolute super star! I love bumping into her on the morning of a wedding, often with flowers in her hair. Sarah works from a little shed in Newark, that I have had the pleasure of visiting a few times. Most recently was at Christmas when I attended one of her wreath making workshops… oh my gosh so much fun! And me and my friend came away with the most beautiful Christmas wreaths. We were so proud of ourselves! I also visited Sarah to take pictures of her at work in her shed. After photographing Lauren’s beautiful autumnal bouquet (below) I knew that Mrs Umbels would be a pretty special lady and I was not wrong! Sarah’s beautiful work also features a lot in my branding. Zoi’s bouquet (next one down after Lauren’s) now adorns my greeting cards. So if you are having your photographs taken by me, you may see that picture again in the near future!
SOPHIE’S FLOWER COMPANY:
I actually first met Sophie of Sophie’s Flower Company at a party for Sarah (Mrs Umbels) as the two are good friends. After chatting I realised I had already photographed her creations a few times, and loved them. Sophie is another fantastic florist. And a gorgeous bubbly person who is a pleasure to work with. I love her work, and the attention to detail. I absolutely adored the flowers at Lisa and Carl’s wedding (below)
THE BLOSSOM TREE:
I love the soft feathers in Alison’s bouquet By The Blossom Tree below. It really suited her styling. Her wedding was very Downton Abbey. She wore an amazing 20s-style dress and the bouquet just fit in perfectly.
I love EJ’s bouquet below, made by a family friend. I believe her name is Lynn Taylor. Its pretty handy to know a good florist if you are getting married. But if you don’t, then I would definitely recommend hiring one that specialises in wedding bouquets.
The Flower Corner:
I loved Joanna’s bouquet by The Flower Corner in Leicester. Donington Park Farmhouse looks amazing when it is adorned with flowers and The Flower Corner did a great job at Joanna and Stephen’s wedding there. I loved Joanna’s bouquet. So pretty.
Flowers By Briege:
Lucy and Alex had a garden themed wedding and I absolutely adored all the little plant pots full of Flowers by Briege. Lucy’s bouquet was also wonderful.

Zinc Floral Design:
Another fantastic florist whose creations I have photographed a few times is Zinc Floral Designs. I have a thing for autumnal bouquets. I think it is the berries in the bouquet and the muted colours that I adore! I love this one from Laura and James’ wedding at Swancar Farm.
Avant Garden:
I had the pleasure of meeting Avant Garden Events last year, who were responsible for Lisa’s bouquet below. They went above and beyond at Lisa’s wedding as they did the whole styling of the venue, much of which was a LOT of flowers! Again, this is great for a photographer who loves to photograph flowers!
Akito Floral Design:
I loved Rosanna’s spring bouquet by Akito Floral Design. They did a lot of the table decorations at Rosanna and Steven’s wedding as well. Another fantastic florist. Loved all the floral arrangements at this wedding.

Flowerz Windsor:
Sometimes a nice simple bouquet of roses is perfect. Lucy’s bouquet by Flowerz Windsor.
Maxine’s friend Lindsey did her flowers for her. I love Maxine’s autumnal bouquet. Lindsey used to be a florist so offered to do Maxine’s flowers as a weddinggift. Handy when one of your best mates used to be a florist!
Wessex Flower Company:
I met Alicia of Wessex Flower Company at Robyn and Matt’s wedding in Berkshire. I immediately fell in love with her creations! I loved the way she presented her flowers to Robyn in the morning. The bouquets had rustic ribbon tied around the stalks and were presented in a little wicker basket with a personalised note listing all the flowers in her bouquet. Such a lovely touch. Alicia had also arranged all of the flowers in the marquee, which looked amazing! Another fantastically floral wedding!
Wild and Green:
I loved the flowers at Samantha and Jake’s wedding by Wild and Green. Another great florist if you are getting married further south. Based in Hampshire. Gorgeous creations. I loved Samantha’s bouquet.
Tineke Floral Design:
Another of my favourite Midlands florists, Tineke Floral Design produced this amazing bouquet for Karen and Matt’s wedding.
Twisted Willow Florist:
Another florist I have had the pleasure of working with a few times over the years is Twisted Willow Florist. I loved her creations at Louise and Tom’s wedding last year. See below:
This is by no means an extensive list of the florists I work with, but definitely includes some of my favourites. I will probably go away and remember another amazing bouquet I photographed, and then come back and add it on. I try to credit all the florists I work with in my blog posts. So if you are looking through one of the weddings on my blog and come across some flowers that you love, then do click on through to their website. Most are also on Instagram, and I do love seeing all the latest creations of my favourite florists on instagram.
