Wedding Photography at Breadsall Priory
Claire and Paul got married in a lovely ceremony at Breadsall Priory. It was the first time for me doing wedding photography at Breadsall Priory, and what a treat. The bridal suite where Claire was getting ready looked out onto the gorgeous grounds of the priory. They were some stunning views.
Busy bustling bridal prep
Claire got ready with her bridesmaids and sister in law and lots of children. All the children had a big part to play in the wedding as flower girls and page boys. As is always the case with young children getting ready, more time is devoted to changing the little ones than pampering and beautifying yourself. Claire was very well looked after and she was also very hands on with the little ones too.
The atmosphere in the room was a mixture of fun and excitement as little people were pulled into dresses and bow ties and made to pose for photos. I tend to prefer the natural shots where the kids are just doing their thing. Especially as children will never look where you want when you want. So the accidental shots are always more fun. I particularly love the shot of the littlest flower girl (Claire’s best friend’s daughter) sat nonchalantly in the middle of the aisle as Claire and Paul are signing the register.
Weather
Of course one can never control the weather so when it was forecast rain and then was rather sunny with a bit of blustery wind, we were all rather relieved. However, the evening shots in that golden light I predicted for the evening had to be shelved when it got dark at 4pm and the rain came in! However, us photographers have to be prepared for such eventualities and so I got creative with some off camera flash into a brolly. You will have to head over to my instagram feed to spot that one, as I wanted to include other shots in my 10 blog. But here are the 10 I have chosen from the day. Not long now until the final set will be ready!
