Wedding at Colwick Hall

Sian and Jerry got married with a wedding at Colwick Hall. I really enjoyed being a part of their special day as they and their friends and family were so welcoming and lovely and just made my job very easy. I arrived in the morning to photograph Sian and all her bridesmaids getting ready in the bridal suite at Colwick Hall, which by the way was HUGE!! The whole wedding party could have camped out in there! It was lots of fun getting bridal portraits of Sian. She was a beautiful bride, looking absolutely stunning in her wedding gown which looked absolutely beautiful on her.

As always I have selected 36 photos to blog. Always difficult to select my favourites, but I have tried to tell the story of the day through my photography. Starting with the dress hanging above the bed in the huge bedroom, some lovely portraits of Sian by the window before she went downstairs with her dad to meet Jerry. The lovely happy moment of Jerry and Sian sharing a happy hug just after they were pronounced husband and wife. Some confetti, some hugs, some laughter and some silly faces. Best friends

One of the endearing things I remember about the wedding was just how highly everyone spoke of the couple. Jerry’s best man gave a beautiful touching speech that just highlighted what a decent and loyal friend he was and you could tell it was completely heartfelt. I really liked the photo I captured of the two of them shaking hands afterwards. There was a lovely bromance if ever I saw one. Sian’s bridesmaids also spoke very highly of Sian. I enjoyed chatting to their friends and family and having a good dance on the dance floor at the end of the wedding.

Into the Woods

I really enjoyed taking portraits of Sian and Jerry in the woods behind Colwick Hall. There were some lovely pools of light for photos and the leafy woodland feel really complimented Sian’s dress. She looked like a fairy princess. It was quite ethereal. And finally a little mention to Sian’s mum, who put a lot of work into the decor on the day, and made the beautiful cake herself. It looked wonderful!
