Burnt Stump Engagement Shoot
I thought it was about time I blogged another engagement shoot. Its been a while, and I rather loved this one at Burnt Stump with Sammy and Chris. Burnt Stump is a spot just on the edge of Nottingham, where I often walk my dog Rockford. I thought it would be a great little spot for some engagement photographs. So when Sammy and Chris were open to ideas about where to do their pre-wedding ‘engagement shoot’ I suggested Burnt Stump. Luckily they agreed to don their boots and come with me for a muddy walk. They were super cute together and lovely to photograph.
My couples are often nervous about having their picture taken or say we don’t feel very natural in front of the camera. I don’t do a lot of posing or directing, but just try to get my couples to embrace the awkwardness, whilst I just goof around taking as many pictures as I can. Usually grinning insanely from behind my camera. And we just sort of walk and chat. Hopefully the end result is quite natural, and by the end they feel bit more comfortable with me than at the very start. I mean its only little on me and my little old camera after all.
