Wedding at Prestwold Hall
Helen and Matt got married in a wedding at Prestwold Hall. Its a lovely and enchanting wedding venue in the heart of Leicestershire. With stunning period details and beautiful grounds. Its grandeur and elegance suited Helen and Matt’s wedding. All their details looked exquisite in the setting and made for a relaxed yet sumptuous and special day. Helen got ready at Prestwold Hall and it was a lovely part of the day photographing her with her bridesmaids in the morning.
Helen’s dress was simple and elegant dropping straight to the floor with a soft lace overlay and a thin gold belt. She looked absolutely stunning. To add to this she was one of the smiliest brides I have had the pleasure of working with and so photogenic. She was an absolute dream to photograph and looked radiant!
Matt scrubbed up pretty well himself. My second shooter Hannah got some lovely shots of him with his groomsmen also getting ready at Prestwold Hall.
The Ceremony
The ceremony took place in the hall. After the ceremony, Helen and Matt walked through the orangery (one of my favourite photographs) to the lawn where they were greeted by their guests and lots of confetti. The hall made a lovely backdrop to the confetti photos (always some of my favourite photographs) the weather was fine and it was a pleasant afternoon drinking champagne and eating canapés on the lawn. I took Helen and Matt away for a few minutes for some nice couple shots before they were called in for the wedding breakfast. The tables looked beautiful with books as centre-pieces and gorgeous floral arrangements.
36 Photos
As with all my blogs of late, I am limiting my selection to 36 photographs (like a roll of film) It means I have to carefully curate the images to the ones that best tell the story of the day. Some of my favourite moments include Helen and her sister and best friend drinking champagne and laughing on the bed. The big smile on Matt’s face as he watched Helen walk down the aisle! The amazing cake by Cooper’s Cakery – so pretty and elegant; Helen and Matt’s lovely waltz; And Helen’s dance with her dad. A beautiful happy day
Overall it was such a beautiful and happy day full of friends and family having a great time together. Just how weddings should be and exactly why I feel I’ve got the best job in the world. Getting to photograph couples on one of the absolute best days of their lives is a privilege. And being allowed the best seat in the house to photograph it all is wonderful. Thanks Helen and Matt for having me along to your wonderful wedding.
