Wedding Photography at The Venue Halifax

Hannah and Ben got in touch with me for their wedding photography at The Venue in Halifax, after I photographed their good friend’s wedding a few years ago. I love it when friends of couples I have already photographed want me at their wedding too. Its a real compliment, and it means I get to see couples again at each other’s weddings.

I had not been to The Venue in Halifax before and I was in for a treat. What a lovely space for a wedding. A converted textile Mill, The Venue greets you with a wide open plan space and high ceilings, which made the perfect blank canvas for Emily K Weddings to style with gorgeous rustic details.

My beautiful Hollywood Movie Star bride

Veronica Lake meets Rita Hayworth! Hannah was a picture of 1940s Old Hollywood glamour with stunning red locks, bright red lipstick and a wedding gown that made her look like she had come straight out of the movies of the 1930s. So so beautiful!

The rooms where the bridal party were getting ready were set in the hotel that was adjacent to the venue and made the perfect space for getting ready. With high ceilings, great decor and the perfect dressing room, where I got one of my favourite photos form the day of Hannah getting ready. Ben was also just down the corridor, which meant I could nip in for a few pictures with the groom and his parents getting ready in between my time in the bridal suite.

Smoke bombs, Tequilla Slammers and great dance moves

What a fun day it was doing Hannah and Ben’s wedding photography at The Venue Halifax. I absolutely highly recommend their ingenious table plan idea, which was giving everybody a shot of tequila with their name on it before they found their way to their seat. Shot faces are the best! And pretty much a dream to photograph! Haha.

Smoke bombs can sometimes be a bit hit and miss. But I think we managed to get a few that worked and got some pictures in the car park. We also walked around the lake for a few portraits which was lovely. In the evening, I got on the dance floor as the band rocked the stage and some great moves were thrown on the dance floor. Those tequila shots definitely kicked in and everyone had a great time. What a day! I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish and cannot wait to deliver Hannah and Ben’s photographs next week.

Team work is dream work!
