Wedding at West Bridgford Registry Office: Couple portrait in the park. Kissing

Micro wedding in Nottingham

Micro wedding in Nottingham: Sabrina and Tom had a lovely little wedding at West Bridgford Registry office with just 6 guests in attendance. I felt very honoured to be amongst the selected few. I got there a little early and met Tom and his family. They were sitting nervously in the waiting area waiting for things to start. We had some chats about the latest news and how this had affected things for them.

The registrar came in to go over formalities, without the usual British hand-shake. Then we all had a chat and a giggle about it all. Its so strange to hold back on human contact with others, even when it is just a how-do-you-do hand-shake. But in true British fashion, we all retained a good sense of humour about it all. Indeed, if there was any heightened anxiety in my first wedding since the Coronavirus news (there I said it – the C word is out there!!) it only made the whole wedding more sweet and loving and genuinely moving.

Portraits

Sabrina was keen for some window light portraits as she had seen them on my instagram. So when she arrived, I took her into the larger room with good windows. So we got some lovely photos in the window light. I also got some photos of Tom. Even with a mini wedding, it is possible to get some great portraits before the wedding ceremony kicks off. The ceremony itself took place in the smaller ceremony room in the building, since there were only 6 guests, so it kept things nice and intimate. Sabrina and Tom’s little girl was an absolute dream and took everything in her stride. After the ceremony we all went outside for some confetti throwing and family group shots, and then I walked around the park with Sabrina and Tom for a short couple shoot.

A perfect little wedding

After completing their portraits I let them go off for their lunch with their family. It was a perfect little micro wedding and I loved being a part of it. Here are a few photos from the day.
