A relaxed summer wedding at Bridgford Hall
Chloe and Grant’s relaxed summer wedding was my first full-day wedding after months away from photographing weddings, making it a day I’ll always remember. Their intimate celebration began with preparations at the Mercure Hotel in Nottingham before a beautiful ceremony at Bridgford Hall in the heart of West Bridgford. They then celebrated with family and friends at Larwood & Voce overlooking Trent Bridge, making the most of some wonderful local locations for relaxed wedding photography along the way.
Wedding Photography at Bridgford Hall
Bridgford Hall is one of my favourite places for intimate ceremonies in Nottinghamshire. The ceremony rooms are beautifully lit with large windows, while Bridgford Park provides the perfect backdrop for relaxed portraits just a few minutes from the registry office. One of the things I love most is that couples can enjoy beautiful photographs without spending ages away from their guests.

Getting ready
Chloe got ready at the Mercure hotel in the city centre. The morning was quiet and calm, and I really enjoyed taking pictures of Chloe in her hotel room. Everything felt very low key and unassuming. It was actually lovely. Chloe did her own makeup and her sister curled her hair and her daughter was excitedly bouncing around the room, and before we knew it, it was time to put on the dress and go! Not before a few of my signature window portraits. Chloe looked absolutely stunning in her flower crown by Phoenix Flowers. I do love a flower crown! It was an absolute pleasure to grab some quick portraits of Chloe before I left for West Bridgford Registry Office.
Small ceremony
Guest numbers were still restricted at the time, meaning only six people were allowed inside the ceremony room. It made the ceremony feel incredibly intimate and it was a privilege to witness it so closely. Friends and family watched from outside through the windows and joined the celebrations remotely. Despite the unusual circumstances, the atmosphere was full of warmth and excitement. In many ways the smaller guest list meant Chloe and Grant could simply relax and enjoy every moment together, and I loved documenting the day just as I would any other wedding.
The Larwood & Voce
Chloe and Grant chose to continue their celebrations at Larwood & Voce, one of West Bridgford’s best-known pubs overlooking Trent Bridge. They had a private area decorated with colourful bunting where friends and family enjoyed drinks, speeches, a buffet, cake cutting and a game of Mr & Mrs.
The Larwood and Voce is a pub that backs onto the Trent cricket ground, and the management even let us into the upstairs bar for some photos, whilst a match was in full swing, which was rather special.
10 Photos
Looking back through Chloe and Grant’s photographs still makes me smile. Their wedding was proof that a small celebration can be every bit as joyful, emotional and memorable as a much larger one. From the relaxed morning preparations and intimate ceremony at Bridgford Hall to the warm celebrations at Larwood & Voce, it was a wonderful day to be part of.
Here are just ten of my favourite photographs from their beautiful summer wedding.
