A small wedding in Nottingham
Daniella and Ashley’s intimate wedding was a beautiful reminder that you don’t need a huge guest list to create an unforgettable day. Their relaxed celebration began with a heartfelt ceremony at West Bridgford Registry Office, followed by portraits in Bridgford Park before heading to Colwick Hall for an intimate family lunch.
I’ve photographed many weddings at West Bridgford Registry Office over the years, and it’s one of my favourite ceremony venues for smaller celebrations. The combination of elegant ceremony rooms, beautiful parkland and nearby reception venues makes it a wonderful choice for couples planning a relaxed Nottingham wedding.
Another day of sun
I wrote that and immediately had to put the LaLa Land sound track on. But yes, it was another day of autumnal sun on another Tuesday. Exactly a week ago, I was on the beach in Norfolk paddling my feet in the sea in warm sunshine. After the temperature really dropped over the weekend, I was not expecting another day of sun. But in true Tuesday wedding fashion, it was absolutely glorious! And it made for some delightful photos outside West Bridgford registry office for this small Nottingham wedding. Daniella looked so radiant in the sunshine and I adored taking photos of her in her beautiful floaty wedding dress that was perfect over her baby bump.
Intimate lunch at Colwick Hall
After the ceremony, confetti and family photographs outside the registry office, everyone made their way to Colwick Hall for an intimate lunch. The Brasserie had been beautifully dressed with candlelight, fairy lights and cherry blossom trees, creating a wonderfully cosy atmosphere for a small family celebration.
Before everyone sat down to eat, we spent a few minutes exploring the grounds for some relaxed portraits. One of the things I love about combining West Bridgford Registry Office with Colwick Hall is that couples enjoy two completely different backdrops within the same day.
