Peak District wedding photography
I’m a Nottingham wedding photographer, so I sit just a short drive from the beautiful rolling hills of the Peak District. I regularly work in this part of the world and always enjoy returning for wedding photography in such a stunning setting.
The Peak District offers a wide range of incredible wedding venues, giving you plenty of choice when planning your day. You can choose a venue with sweeping views or take a short drive into the hills for even more dramatic scenery.
Above all, the Peak District delivers a dream backdrop for wedding photography, and I love every opportunity I get to shoot there.

One of my favourite wedding venues is Barlow Woodseats Hall, just a stone’s throw from Curbar Edge. This beautiful, family-run barn sits within stunning grounds and offers a rustic, converted space that works perfectly for weddings.
I’m also a recommended supplier here and have photographed three incredible weddings at the venue so far. You can see them below:
The Peak District is such a special place
As you drive into the rolling hills of the Peak District, the landscape takes your breath away. Rugged gritstone moorlands shape the Dark Peak. In contrast, the White Peak opens into soft limestone dales. These beautiful landscapes stretch across five counties—mainly Derbyshire, as well as Staffordshire, Cheshire, Yorkshire, and Greater Manchester.
Walkers, ramblers, and outdoor lovers come here in their thousands. You can follow the panoramic Mam Tor ridge or take on the Kinder Scout plateau. Derwent Edge offers dramatic views, while places like the Roaches, Thor’s Cave, and Bamford Edge bring striking, rocky scenery. These are some of my personal favourites.
I’m always drawn to these locations with a camera in hand. Sometimes I’m out with my dog and son, capturing quick moments on my phone. Other times, I’m photographing couples with my Sony A7III against these epic backdrops. Wherever I go, the Peaks never disappoint—they’re perfect for photography.

Elopement style wedding photography in the Peaks
Whether you’re tying the knot at one of the Peak District’s many wedding venues or heading into the wild for breathtaking elopement-style photos, I’m here to capture it all. I combine over 14 years of wedding photography experience with a genuine love for exploring these rugged landscapes, so I know exactly how to create stunning, natural imagery in this incredible setting.
Becky and Ste chose a relaxed, mini elopement-style shoot, and we spent a couple of hours together in the Peaks capturing something truly special—the results were absolutely stunning.

Other Peak District wedding venues I love:
Having worked at wedding venues across the Peak District for many years, I know and appreciate its unique charm. Over time, I’ve had the pleasure of photographing weddings at some truly special locations, including Darwin Lake, Knockdown Cottages, Shottle Hall, Breadsall Priory, Dovecliff Hall Hotel, The White Hart Inn and The Hurt Arms Ambergate. Because of this experience, I’m perfectly placed to capture your wedding beautifully in this stunning region.
Why chose the Peak District for your wedding?
- Cinematic backdrop
- Romantic setting
- Central location
- Beautiful scenery
Not only does the Peak District offer a cinematic backdrop, but it also creates a naturally romantic setting. In addition, its central location makes it easily accessible for guests travelling from across the UK. Most importantly, the area is renowned for its breathtaking scenery.
Stretching across Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Cheshire, and Yorkshire, the Peak District combines rolling landscapes with picturesque farmland and charming villages. As a result, it stands out as one of the most beautiful places to get married.
As a wedding photographer based nearby, I regularly work at venues throughout the Peak District. Because of this, I know how to make the most of its scenery and settings to create timeless, memorable wedding photography.
