Louise and James {Wedding at Thrumpton Hall}

A Christmas Wedding

As my first wedding of 2017 is fast approaching and 2016 is creeping further and further into the past, it is lovely to share my penultimate wedding of 2016 with you today. Louise and James got married the day before Christmas Eve and it was so lovely to shoot such a Christmassy wedding, even though it was freezing cold!

Thrumpton Hall

Thrumpton Hall was decked out suitably with Christmas tree and decorations and it felt like the exact place to be for a wedding the day before Christmas Eve. The festive spirit was in the air and Louise and James had embraced it with their styling of the marquee. Each table had a mini Christmas tree with fairy lights and twinkly lights are so wonderful to photograph.

Louise got ready in the bridal suite at Thrumpton Hall along with all her bridesmaids and two daughters who were flower girls. So it was quite a crowded room and everyone was buzzing! It was lovely to capture Louise’s gorgeous little girls in the morning. They were quite shy, so best captured off guard. But such lovely sisters, it was great to get lots of lovely photos of them together!

Emma bringing the Christmas-photo-spirit

My second shooter Emma arrived at the church to take pictures of James and guests arriving. Emma is a fellow photographer and mate and I could not think of anyone better to shoot a Christmas wedding with. She brought along two Christmas hair bands for us to wear and a couple of mince pies! Oh yes!!

Ceremony

The church is just down the road in the village of Thrumpton and a lovely intimate church to get married in. Everyone walked on back to the venue after the service and quickly inside to thaw out. Before I got them all out again for a few photos. Totally worth it for some great candids of the guests while I organised a quick group shot.

Festive Red Lips

Louise looked gorgeous with festive red lipstick and a lovely fur stole to keep her shoulders warm. She was amazing braving the cold for outdoor portraits. Louise and James make a lovely couple. They have three kids and I photographed their youngest Zach when he was only a week old. It was lovely to photograph their little family again for the third time at their wedding. And what a wonderful way to get ready for Christmas.

Louise and James I loved your wedding. I hope you love the memories.

Do check out their little mini-wedding video at the end of this post.
