Wedding photography at Sandhole Oak Barn

Beccy and Matt got married at the weekend with a gorgeous Harry Potter themed wedding. And I was lucky enough to be doing their wedding photography at Sandhole Oak Barn. A great wedding venue in the heart of Cheshire that I had not been to before. And one that suited Beccy and Matt’s lovely wedding to a tee. It had all the space for busy bridal preparations in the morning. A wonderful huge barn to accommodate the ceremony, and reception and dancing. As well as a very pretty lake, where we were lucky enough to catch a beautiful sunset in the evening. I do love a barn wedding. You can view more of my Nottingham Barn weddings here.

Harry Potter

Beccy is Harry Potter obsessed, and so her wedding naturally had to have elements of Harry Potter throughout. I loved the way this was creatively incorporated into the wedding, with the origami bouquets made from pages of Harry Potter books, to the table names being chapters of the books. Beccy and her sister did all the bouquets themselves and I was so impressed. They really looked amazing. They had also painstakingly made heart shaped confetti, also out of pages of the Harry Potter books, which the little flower girls sprinkled down the aisle from their blush pink cauldrons, which Beccy had sourced and dyed herself. These lovely little touches made the day extra special.

The bride squad

No wedding is complete without a top notch bride squad and Beccy had a great giggle of girls and one boy to make up her squad. You can tell they were a really tight bunch of friends and really supported Beccy in the morning and throughout the day. Matty (the honorary boy amongst the bridesmaids) is a personal friend of mine too, having acted with him at the brilliant Lacemarket Theatre pre-Covid. So it was great to catch up with him too and to witness the lovely friendship he has with Beccy. They also rocked the photos! Making my wedding photography at Sandhole Oak Barn rather enjoyable indeed.

It was also great to see Jenny and Gaz, whose wedding I photographed 7 years ago! I do love seeing couples I have already photographed at weddings!
