The West Mill Wedding Photography | Erin & Michael
It was delightful to be back at The West Mill for the wedding photography of Erin & Michael’s special day. With its industrial stone floors and rustic ceilings, and large original window features, The West Mill is one of my favourite wedding venues to photograph. A big fan of window light in my photography, the West Mill is a dream to work at. With all of its huge windows, it is great for both bridal portraits and couple portraits after the ceremony.
A spacious venue set over four floors
The towering old industrial mill is set over four floors. It is rather a unique and practical space for your wedding. Each floor is dedicated to a different part of your wedding. Thus making it very easy to have access to the whole venue all day. Firstly you have the ceremony taking place on the top floor, secondly, the drinks reception on the ground floor. Then you have the wedding breakfast on floor three and finally drinks and dancing on floor two. I love sneaking the couple away after confetti and family groups to the top floor for some fabulous stylised shots by the big windows.
Erin & Michael’s wedding at The West Mill
I met Erin and her bridal party in the getting ready room a couple hours before the ceremony. Her hair and makeup was already done at home so the morning was very relaxed at the venue, with a few glasses of bubbly and then getting into her lovely dress. It gave us loads of time for bridal portraits, which I love taking at The West Mill. The window light is gorgeous and I love the big mirror for some pretty reflections.
Michael and his best man stayed on the ground floor, greeting guests as they arrived. I got a few portraits of them in front of the Mill doors. I loved their style, Michael in a dark green suit, and his best man in retro cowboy boots and flares. It was a look for sure!
In conclusion, the whole day was colourful and fun and I really enjoyed chatting to their friends and family throughout the day.
