Wedding Photos at Hazel Gap Barn
Hazel Gap Barn is one of my favourite Nottingham wedding venues. I have been lucky enough to be back a few times taking wedding photos at Hazel Gap Barn. I love a rustic Hazel Gap Barn wedding. This venue suits my vibe completely with its laid back feel and beautiful rustic barn interior. I really enjoy weddings at Hazel Gap Barn and enjoy returning again and again. With its dramatic red brick barns that greet you as you drive up the sweeping driveway, it really is an impressive wedding venue. You can read more about this exclusive use wedding venue below. Along with a little list of reasons why Hazel Gap Barn is one of my favourite Nottingham wedding venues.
Getting married at Hazel Gap Barn
If you are getting married at Hazel Gap Barn, you are in for a treat. It is a lovely venue. You can see some of my favourite photos from weddings at this venue below. Followed by the lovely Ayse and James’ wedding along with their favourite photos. I love returning to Hazel Gap Barn. Barn weddings are great! And the relaxed and rustic vibe you get with Hazel Gap Barn is fantastic. I particularly love the fire-pit in the courtyard that can be used for toasting marshmallows at the end of the night. It is also a venue that is great for photos, with the woodland just behind the venue, that has bluebells in Spring. Also, the outbuildings look great as a backdrop for portraits.
Kind words from one of my Hazel Gap Barn couples:
“Kathryn was an absolutely amazing photographer and made us feel so at ease during the whole day. When she arrived in the morning she was full of energy and just kept us laughing all day. She took some incredible photos and we really did feel as if she was one of our guests! We are so happy to have had Kathryn with us on our wedding day, she truly helped to make it as wonderful as it was. Her style, her clear vision and all the candid photos she captured during the day. We would recommend her to anyone looking for a wedding photographer as she is truly one of the best!” Chloe & Alex

- The bright windows in the reception room giving plenty of light for photos during speeches.
- The friendly staff and welcoming reception.
Ayse and James’ wedding photos at Hazel Gap Barn
Wedding photos at Hazel Gap Barn
Ayse and James got married on a snowy day in March for beautiful wedding photos at Hazel Gap Barn. However, although they were a little bit worried about people getting to the venue OK with the weather conditions not being great for the roads. Luckily everyone made it in one piece and the snow consequently added a certain bit of magic to the day and yes snowball fights did ensue!
Ayse and James’ favourite five:
As with all my recent blog posts, I am asking my couples to pick their favourite five images from the day and to give me their reasons why. Its really fun to see which photos my couples pick, as the reasons for their favourites are tied up in memories from the day, where my selection might be about light and composition. I love the ones that Ayse and James have selected as they have picked some key moments from the day that bring back memories and mean a lot to them for one reason or another. Here is their selection from their wedding photography at Hazel Gap Barn.
One:
Ayse and James say: The one of us walking down the aisle. According to our guests (and our photographer!) we ran down the aisle rather than walk down it. We think it’s because we chose Walking on Sunshine as our song to walk back up the aisle to and hadn’t realise how quick the pace was!
Two:
Ayse & James say: This is just a really nice photo of us with our parents who have helped us a lot with our wedding.
Three:
Ayse & James say: The Bestmen – First of all this shows that James had 6 best men as he couldn’t pick one! Also this is when Kathryn told them to “act cool” and this is what they came up with. You can tell how naturally uncool they are 🙂
Four:
Ayse & James say: There was a snowball fight during the photos and Kathryn nearly got caught in the cross fire! James was hiding behind the videographer to protect himself from the attack from the best men.
Five:
Ayse & James say: This is a favourite as it shows what the setting was like on the day due to the snow. Although when it started snowing a few days before the wedding and it started blocking the roads and particularly Ayse was freaking out the snow made the setting on the day amazing! Also Ayse was really happy with her jacket that one of her bridesmaids (Amy) made for her. It was very useful on the day!
What was the best decision you made about your wedding day? (advice to future couples)
Having the wedding in March as it was off-peak and we still had amazing weather! Don’t be afraid of a winter wedding. We spent the different in cost going on our honeymoon
Is there anything you would do differently? (advice to future couples getting married)
We felt like we didn’t get a chance to speak to a lot of our guests. We were told this might happen but we wish we had more time to spend with them.
The photographer’s Favourite 36
This was hard narrowing down photos from my wedding photography at Hazel Gap Barn. I loved the window light during bridal prep. And the snow was amazing. Furthermore, Ayse had the biggest smile, I couldn’t stop photographing her. The two of them were amazing and so friendly and accommodating all day. I loved how emotional the speeches were. Ayse’s mum gave a beautiful speech, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. I loved the contrast between the English and Turkish speeches. The snow on the ground, the big red bus, taking Ayse and James out for photos in the snow. And fantastic dancing at the end of the night. It was a beautiful wedding and I enjoyed every minute. Take a look at the slide show at the bottom of the post for more photos.Credit where credit is due:
